New Contest "Dialing-For-Dollars" for
Bracket Racers (July, 05)
During Time Trials and for one-pass
ONLY racer can display on windshield the ET they think they
will run. The racer closest to their "dial" will be the winner. Red-light starts
do not disqualify, but cars going quicker than the dial are disqualified. No stagger starts, but run as any
other time trial between two cars. The tower will call this competition; cars will form two lanes and be
run-off in sequence. $10 to buy-in. Payout: 70% to jackpot/30% to track.
New Contest "ET/Dial-In Contest" for Street Legal Racers (July '05) (Updated:
August '05)
This contest will be held when, in the judgment of the
track manager, there are enough contestants to participate. The racer will display
on windshield the ET they think they will run.
Rules: 1. Closest to the dial-in without
going under wins.
2.
Red lights do not disqualify.
3.
Cars are still started "heads up" at the tree (no staggered start).
4.
Run offs will occur around 9-9:30 pm, one pass only.
5. No
entry fee, just show up in the lane when the class is called, and bring shoe polish.
Trophies are being sponsored by George M. Lewellen, CPA,
Inc.
New Reminders (June-July, 05):
1) If a car runs quicker than it is tech'd for, the driver will receive ONE warning not to let it happen again. If it does happen
again (whether the next round, race or several races later) the car will be barred from
further passes until the higher safety measures are installed.
2) Cars that do/can run quicker than 14.0 seconds CANNOT
have a passenger. If this occurs car and driver will be barred from racing for the
remainder of the event.
3) Neither driver or passenger can make a pass in tank tops, or shorts or
barefoot.
4) Licensing passes are not permitted on Street Legal Drag nights.
- Staging lanes will be 'open' (no call-up by classes) between 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
for racer's qualifying runs. Racers allowed as many passes as time allows.
Eliminations start at 1:00 pm. (Jrs, SS, S-Gas, etc. will get their preferred
light).
- First-Round and Second-Round losers can buy into a separate
Consolation / Gamblers race. The cost is $20. That pot will
be split 70%/30% (racers' favor) of which 40% will go to the 'winner' and 30% to the
"runner-up".
- Classes will be run in above order unless specified or at special events.
- First call for event will be announced.
- If a bye-run is necessary it will be chosen from first sixteen (16) cars at the front of
the lanes with a deck of cards.
